Meet Our Dentists
Dr. Gary Newell
Dr. Gary Newell is a graduate of Case Western Reserve Dental School. His passion is helping people replace missing teeth with dental implants. Dr. Newell studied dental implant surgery and implant prosthetics at the Misch Implant Institute, where he is now a Fellow.
Dr. Newell is also a Diplomat on the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and a Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.
Dr. Newell’s personal interests are travel, sailing, scuba diving and hiking with his wife Donna. More on Dr. Newell’s story.
Dr. Carrie Clarkson
Dr. Carrie Clarkson received her Bachelor of Science degree at James Madison University. She then obtained her doctorate degree in dental surgery at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. After graduation, Dr. Clarkson entered private practice with her father where she focuses on restorative and cosmetic dentistry. Dr.Clarkson has continued her education by taking several courses on various topics including sleep apnea and advanced cardio life support. She is also an active member of the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Clarkson is married and has two sons.
Meet Our Staff
Michelle relocated to Virginia Beach in 1985. She has raised three successful children. Michelle has been working with Dr. Newell for the better part of 20 years. She is the liaison between the doctor and the patient. She will help with questions, scheduling and the sequencing of your dental visits. Michelle enjoys building long lasting relationships with patients, which ultimately helps her, help the patients achieve the dentistry they want to have.
Davina has been with our office for over a decade. She enjoys being a part of a terrific team. Davina is excited to be a part of helping our patients keep a healthy smile and giving our new patients a welcoming experience.
Kayla moved here from San Diego in 2014 and started working with us in 2015. She received her Dental assisting certificate in 2008 and has loved dental ever since. She strives to help patients understand the importance of their dental health and help them understand their needs. In her downtime she enjoys spending time with her husband.
Angelia has ten years experience in the dental field. She received her x-ray certification from Old Dominion University. She enjoys spending quality time with her family. She has a great passion for helping educate patients on the non-clinical side of the practice in order to make the best dental care available to all our patients.
Dianne has been practicing dental hygiene with Dr.Newell since 1985. Her experience also includes five years as a clinical instructor of the University of Michigan Dental School, her alma mater. The challenge of helping people obtain optimal health through dentistry is what motivated her through the years. Living longer and having a better quality of life is so important to her. She believes good oral health is the doorway to do this.
Kathy is a registered dental hygienist and a graduate of Old Dominion University. Upon graduation she received an award for being the best clinician in her class. She has been in the dental field since 1991, and will be helping you maintain a healthy mouth so you will look and feel your best.
Dana received her Bachelor of Science degree from Old Dominion University and has been practicing dental hygiene for 26 years. She is proud and excited to practice with such a skilled and compassionate team who strives to bring out each individual’s best smile. A resident of Virginia Beach since 1973, she spends most of her free time with her two daughters enjoying days at the beach.
Lexie obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene from Old Dominion University. She has been helping patients maintain their oral health with a gentle touch for 16 years. She loves getting to know her patients, putting them at ease, and assisting them with their specific needs. In her free time, she enjoys biking, camping, hiking, and kayaking with her husband, 2 children, and chocolate lab.
Sally attended Western Carolina University receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. Upon graduation she secured teaching positions in North Carolina and Virginia. To begin her second career in the dental field, she successfully challenged the Dental Assisting National Board Exam and has received her certification. For over 30 years she has been enjoying helping patients achieve and maintain their best dental health.
Erica has been a Dental Assistant for 15 years. She is currently attending Thomas Nelson to become a Dental Hygienist. She loves helping patients obtain their perfect smiles and a healthy mouth.
